Dopamine Deficit 2024
Charcoal on paper and sculpture
150x200cm
Dopamine Deficit explores the lasting imprint of receiving love and care in rare, unpredictable moments. Drawing from childhood experiences with my mother, the work reflects on how these brief moments of affection became something to chase a pattern that followed me into adulthood. Through the symbolic presence of a pink “dopamine” pill, the painting considers longing, dependency, memory, and ultimately, forgiveness..
